Paradigm’s English Language Teachers | Paradigm’s Thai Language Teachers

Please meet some of Paradigm’s front line teachers.

Randall Shaun Brown (Lead Instructor)
Nationality: American
Education: B.A. in Development Political Economy from the University of California, Berkeley;
TESOL certification

Originally hailing from California, Randall Shaun Brown grew up in the coastal border city of San Diego
where he invested his youth devouring the world’s finest fish tacos and camping in the Cuyamaca
Mountains. Moving from San Diego, Randall turned down offers of full academic scholarships from both U.C.
Santa Barbara and U.C.L.A., accepting instead a full academic scholarship from Berkeley. Randall’s studies
at Berkeley focused on Development Political Economy, International Human-Rights Law, and Political Ecology.

At Paradigm, Randall enjoys helping students think analytically and logically about their colloquial and literary use of the English
language. He teaches test-prep courses – SAT, TOEFL, IELTS, GRE, and GMAT – in ways that help students not only apply key
strategies, but also recognize and conceptualize reoccurring patterns on these tests. Randall accomplishes this by adopting
a strategy- AND skill-based teaching methodology that is dynamic, interesting, and fun.

When he is not working, Randall loves to read (especially academic texts on Political Ecology, Political Science, and Political
Economy), conduct research, and travel.

Education: B.A. University of California, Santa Cruz; TESOL certification

Originally from Brooklyn, New York, Tony decided to leave the frigid east coast winters behind,
and he moved out west to study at the University of California, Santa Cruz. While at Santa Cruz,
Tony studied international politics, political theory, and history.

In 2006 Tony decided to study abroad at Thammasat University. At Thammasat, Tony’s studies focused on rural development,
economics, and Thai history. After graduating from Santa Cruz, Tony taught English to underachieving school age children
in Cincinnati, Ohio.

While teaching, Tony also worked as a research associate administering cognitive assessments to students. Tony’s dynamic style
of teaching is holistic, incorporating different techniques tailored to stimulate and develop the students’ intellectual skills.
Tony's language classes are designed to introduce and immerse the student to the appropriate usage of conversational
and colloquial forms of English.

At Paradigm, Tony is teaching TOEFL, IELS, TOEIC and Business English as well as General English. With his flexibility,
Tony is adaptable to all kind of students and their needs in learning.

In his free time, Tony likes to travel, play basketball, and now he is trying to learn how to cook Thai food!
